HOW TO SPONSOR A WINDCALL RESIDENCY
Who can sponsor a Windcall Residency?
- Social, economic and environmental justice organizations and labor unions
- Foundations and individual donors
- Groups of Windcall alumni or other groups of supporters
- Leadership programs/awards that want to enhance their program with a Windcall Residency
How are Sponsorships designated?
As a Sponsor, you can designate the kinds of organizers you’re interested in supporting by geographic area, issue area or identity. We are now accepting sponsors for next year’s Residents.
What is the Windcall criteria?
Applicants must have at least five years experience as an organizer or activist. We give first consideration to grassroots community and labor organizers working in low-income communities but also consider cultural workers, advocates and activists who demonstrate how their work engages others in taking collective action for social change.
How are Sponsored Residents Selected?
The Windcall Board of Directors, all Windcall alumni, selects Residents. It is a confidential process that encourages applicants to be honest and reflective about what brings them to Windcall.
How much is a Sponsorship?
A sponsorship is $6,000, which supports the recruitment and orientation process; six coaching sessions with a professional coach; the Residency itself including transportation from the nearest airport, accommodations, food and food preparation, and participation in the eight core Windcall Residency elements; and support for four months after the Residency to bring Windcall-inspired visions and practices home into the daily work within organizations and movements. Airfare and transportation within the local area is not included.
Please contact Executive Director Viviana Rennella at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to sponsor one or more residencies.
